It has been a long time since I last posted here, but here is an update:
Lola is now 4 going onto 14 years old. She is very talkative and smart - knows things about the iPad that even Maria doesn't know what to do.
She's been going to Kindergarten for a year now and is enjoying it very much.
The 'Sleep-out' is complete, we moved in December 2012 - just before Christmas. Things are coming along nicely.

STILL WAITING TO BREAK GROUND
After months of cutting through red tape we've finally got the go ahead with the sleepout. A loan has been approved.
Instead of building a two-bedroom house and a garage, we have to build a two-bedroom sleepout (no oven). All thanks to Transpower - "We (Maria and I) can't build under their powerlines, but it is OK for them (Transpower) to have lines over anybody's property!!!" GO FIGURE!!!!!
Anyway, hopefully we will be breaking ground in a month......

The Miracle Of Birth

I witnessed the most amazing thing today as Maria was giving birth to our baby girl - little Lola Ana-Maria Togiaono-Lum. Born on 13/01/2010 at 2:16pm weighing in at 7lbs 7oz. It was a quick delivery as baby Lola was almost out before Maria was at the bed - not even 5mins before Maria got out of the wheelchair and onto the bed!!!
TODAY IS THE DAY
Got a phonecall this morning after work from Maria saying the contractions had begun..... We will be welcoming baby Lola Ana-Maria Lum anytime soon :-)

A LITTLE SCARE - BUT ALL IS WELL
We went to the anti-natal appointment on Monday and the midwife measured Maria as 32inches. Now, being 36 weeks the mid wife ordered a scan. I thought the measurement was wrong and after the scan I was right. Baby is fine :)
We also got the ball rolling with the sleepout. Maria and I are now proud owners of a mortgage ;)Friday, November 20, 2009
The new JAL
Things are moving along. Maria and baby are doing well. We managed to get finance for the 'sleepout' - now its just going through all the red tape with lawyers etc
We also got a new car. The 'family friendly' JAL is a 2001 Suzuki Aerio 5-door hatchback. Think we managed to get a good deal - traded Julieana's white '86 Corolla in and got them to transfer the sound system from that car into the Suzuki ;)

UPDATE
Well, we talked to Duncan (www.versatile.co.nz) and decided to build a two-bedroom "sleepout" on the back of Maria's parents property. Now we have to convince the bank manager to lend us some money.......
